Core beliefs

Evangelical Christianity (See main article for details)

Evangelicalism is a Protestant Christian theological stream which began in Great Britain in the 1730s. Most adherents consider its key characteristics to be:

  • A belief in the need for personal conversion (or being "born again")
  • Some expression of the gospel in "effort"
  • A high regard for biblical authority
  • An emphasis on the death and resurrection of Jesus.
  • Heavy support of creationism
  • Suppression of rights for GLBT
  • The overturning of Roe Vs Wade

From the late 20th century onwards, such conservative Protestant Christians, and their churches and social movements, have often been called evangelical to distinguish them from Protestants who have a tendency towards more liberal Christianity.

Ray is known to be a Young Earth Creationist. The following comment was added Living Waters staff member Dale Jackson on September 16, 2009 in response to repeated demands for clarification about the age of the Earth by the atheist blogger Iago. It was subsequently deleted, but is accessible via Google's cache [1]of Ray's entry at Athiest Central entitled "Unbelief for Dummies".

"...Regarding nailing him down on exact age of the earth - I'm like him in that way - I don't know precisely how old the earth - though I tend to say 8-10,000-ish. And Ray is like that too. Others like Ken Ham may be more confident at more of an exact figure and that's fine.
"Time speaking - I mean 10,000 years old isn't young. I mean that's a lot of years compared to our feeble 80 years (and that's pushing it).
"Compared to evolution's 65 million - yeah I see why we are labled "Young Earthers".
"I'll tell you this. Ray believes what Jesus said. And Jesus already stated that what Moses had said and written is true. That God created in 6 days and the 7th was rest - a purposeful setting of example for humanity to work 6 and rest one.
"If that means young earth? Then Ray believes that.
"Whether that's 6,000, 8,000-10,000 or 12,000 - Ray has already made plainly clear - he doesn't know.
"Ray is a young earther by definition and is in line with Ken Ham and Hovind on this issue.
"Iago the parrot is only trying to prove that Ray is somehow an old earther, which is rather a dumb accusation - it's merely an attempt by iago to place blame when there is none."

It is thought by many that Ray removed the comment because Young Earth Creationism is divisive among Christians, with many believing it is an untenable position.

Ambassador Alliances

The Ambassadors' Alliance is a global alliance of churches, para-church ministries, and individual Christians who share the common vision of fulfilling the Great Commission and inspiring in every Christian a God-glorifying passion to do the same. All members of the alliance—whether church, para-church ministry, or individual Christian—are committed to using the Law of God to help the unbeliever recognize their true spiritual condition and their need for the Savior, and to present the entirety of the gospel in a biblical way.

  • Those attending this conference must go through training by Ray Comfort's staff and LWP will hand pick other instructors that are in line with their theology.
  • They have some "exclusive" content only members can have. The exclusivism This ranges from the hotel accommodations to the content that only members can access. They will insist on members of other churches to comply.
  • They have four "Classes" of members: Ambassadors, Embassies, Allies and Associates. They receive training in propaganda dissemination and act as independent cells.

Ambassadors An ambassador is a person who serves as a representative or envoy of a king from one country to another. An ambassador of Jesus Christ is a person who has received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and who serves the King of kings and the Lord of lords. The primary function of Christ’s ambassadors is to bring the King’s message (the Gospel) from the Kingdom of God to the kingdom of this lost and fallen world.

For the purposes of the Ambassadors’ Alliance, an ambassador is a Christian who has met all of the basic membership requirements and has attended and successfully completed The Ambassadors’ Academy.

Embassies An embassy is a church, completely independent of Living Waters, which is recognized by Living Waters as a church that ascribes to Living Water's ideology and whose leadership and/or delegates have attended and successfully completed the Ambassadors’ Academy. These churches will also maintain regular evangelism training for their members, as well as a viable and aggressive evangelism ministry within the framework of the church.

Allies An ally is a para-church ministry not directly affiliated with or accountable to Living Waters but meets the requirements of recognized embassies.

Associate This format is reserved for individuals who don't fit in the first categories. They are for the single-man operation, who still support the theology of Ray Comfort.

Deeper Conference

Participants in this exciting conference journeyed deeper into an understanding of God through a stimulating examination of several challenging topics. Our tour guides included some of today’s most influential and sought after speakers.

  • Most topics covered are the ad nauseaum of many of Living waters products' message. This only serves in keeping the participants in line with LWP's ideology.

Transformed Conference

Transformed conferences are one-day evangelism-themed events, held at a centralized location, in association with multiple churches in strategic cities around the US. The conferences are typically 4 hours in duration and feature 4 speakers: Ray Comfort, Kirk Cameron, Todd Friel, Emeal Zwayne. The goal of the conferences is to introduce people to the principals of Confrontational Evangelism, while inspiring them and equipping them to become bold witnesses of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Currently, these conferences are held at no cost to attendees.

  • While it gives the basics of their brand of evangelism, it is not as extensive as the school of biblical evangelism.

School Of Biblical Evangelism

The School of Biblical Evangelism (SoBE) is an online Bible School, dedicated to training men and women to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The school was established in 2001 by Living Waters. Through 101 online lessons, including audios, articles, and videos, students are challenged to have a biblical worldview. Each lesson is designed to equip the students to defend the historic Christian faith. The course takes approximately six months to complete. Total students since inception = 11,000 enrolled/completed.

  • Next to "Way of the master" it is the most sought ressource as far evangelism goes. In fact they use the "way of the master" as source material.

Way of the master

The most known outreach of LWP. Mostly known for it's heavy merchandising of it's ideology. It was divided in TV and radio components, until they sold the radio show concept to familynet and then it became Wretched Radio (with it's own TV show).

Each broadcast season consists of 13 half-hour episodes. To date, three seasons have been produced and are regularly broadcast on global station networks such as the Trinity Broadcast Network (TBN). The series is broadcast on approximately 20 stations and channels in over 70 countries. Estimated viewership claimed by the different networks is in the millions. DVD versions of the series have been produced, and over 60,000 copies have either been given out or sold as an instructional resource.

Wretched radio and TV are the offshoots of what was once WOTM radio. Familynet bought the concept re-using the format, with the same host.

Key Members

Ray Comfort

Ray Comfort is a Christian minister and evangelist. Comfort, who started Living Waters Publications and The Way of the Master and has written a number of books that He and Kirk peddles.

Kirk Cameron

Tony "Law Man" Miano

He uses the "fishing" approach as well. He uses open-air preaching, which is serious business. Lawman worked for 20 years as a deputy in the LA County Sheriff's Department with the latter part of that career as a chaplain to the law enforcement community.

He's also one of their instructors. "Lawman" heads the evangelism training conducted by Way of the Master through their "Ambassadors Academies".

Emeal "EZ" Zwayne

EZ is the General Manager of Way of the Master / Living Waters ministries. He's the force behind the commercialization of LWP.

Trisha Ramos

A pawn of "wretched" radio, most of her videos are just applications of the good person test via fishing for marks and just other asinine methods of evangelism, while pushing the various products that living waters ministries peddles.
